Another day, another sold out show in the UK for British pop punk band You Me at Six as they took to the stage of Rock City. The band for this tour being supported by British rock band VANT have enjoyed an incredibly successful tour and were set to carry that on in Nottingham. They went above and beyond any expectations. As VANT came on to open the show, there was a sense of anticipation building around the arena as it was clear to see the crowd were as die-hard fans of You Me at Six; the tickets were so sparse and the Rock City date was the first to sell out. Until You Me at Six came on though fans were treated to VANT, and it is clear to see why they had been gaining so much attention. Whilst yet to release their debut album, songs such as Karma Seeker were well received by the crowd.
With the new album Night People set to be released in January next year, there was an extra buzz from the fans for the chance to hear some of the new songs off the album . The fans weren’t disappointed with a set blending the new album and the already established classics perfectly. With two singles already released, Night People and Plus One they held prominent spots in the set list with the former closing the show. It was interesting to see how new songs are performed live and it was clear to see from their performance how passionate the band are about the new album – with so much energy given into the song it clearly radiated to the crowd that night.
Another stellar show down and fans happy they were lucky enough to get a limited ticket, they were still hoping for one more song before the band left the stage to finish the rest of their UK then European dates. With an upcoming album set to show a grittier side to You Me at Six, it looks like it’ll be a very interesting and formative time for the band.
